Roddy was born in Jamaica and moved to the UK and then Lebanon. After time in Ethiopia and India working with IofC, he returned to Jamaica and set up, with other community leaders in his village, a company to process local produce, Walkerswood Caribbean Foods.  He chaired the company for several years. He was asked to join the Board of Trustees of the Oxford Group in 2010 and then to work on their outreach programme.
